Climbing trees to hunt is not anything new or novel, but the way stands go up and are accessed has come a long way. Traditional tree stands were often accessed from improvised ladders that were nailed directly into the tree. While effective, the steps eventually rot, nails are not reliable and the ladder is only applicable to permanent stand locations.
