Mike Gundy ‘very, very certain’ defensive coordinator Jim Knowles will stay with OSU football

STILLWATER — Oklahoma State defensive coordinator Jim Knowles’ profile is on the rise.

He was named a finalist for the Broyles Award, given annually to college football’s top assistant coach, on Monday. And he’s become a popular name in the coaching carousel.

But, as of now, don’t expect Knowles to go anywhere.

“I am fairly certain that he’ll be coaching here next year,” OSU coach Mike Gundy said Monday afternoon. “The Green Bay Packers may offer him $3 million. I can’t say for sure.
